On Your First Visit…

During your first visit at Sage Dental, a Comprehensive Exam will be done – followed by a Comprehensive Treatment Planning Consultation. During this appointment, we will conduct a Risk Assessment, in addition to taking radiographs/x-rays, a CBCT scan, a Velscope (oral cancer screening), and Carivu Screening as an early caries indicator.

We make sure to take the time with each patient to learn their individual needs in order to provide our patients with the best treatment plan possible.  

What is CariVu Screening?

• Uses transillumination technology that makes enamel appear transparent while porous lesions trap and absorb light
• Allows the clinician to see through the tooth, exposing its structure and the development of any carious lesions
• CariVu images read like familiar X-ray images
• Uses non-ionizing radiation which is ideal for children, pregnant women and patients who are X‑ray averse
